Everybody loves a snickerdoodle from time to time right! Well how about if you could take the best snickerdoodle recipes and recreate one of them in the comfort of your own home. These are sure to wow your family and friends and once you have made them they will definitely become a firm family favorite. So with this in mind where did they originate from?

Snickerdoodles have been around since the late 1800's and are said to have been brought over by Dutch or German colonialists who had settled in the New England area. There are many suggestions as to where the name comes from. Some say that it comes from the German for "snail noodles" although there is nothing to suggest that this is truly the case. Other people say that it comes from the Dutch word "Snekrad" which implies a snail shape. However for most part it is widely believed that it is just a whimsical name made up at the time. So if you are not of American Origin or have been living under a rock for the past 200 years then what exactly is a snickerdoodle?

In essence, a snickerdoodle is similar to the taste and style of a plain sugared cookie, except that instead it is rolled in a cinnamon sugar mixture. What you are looking for in the perfect snickerdoodle is one that has a nice crisp exterior with a soft "melt in the mouth" interior. So with this in mind... how do you recreate the perfect recipe?

Here are several tips that you should know before you go ahead.....

1.It's all about the rising agent - The key to a perfectly cooked snickerdoodle is the leavening agent. In older times they used cream of tartar and baking soda. But for best results try substituting with baking powder. This gives you a much more even risen bake.

2.Dough refrigeration - You also need to refrigerate the dough until the balls are just firm enough. Too little refrigeration and they will be all sloppy, too much and they simply won't puff up. So the timing is crucial

3.Watch the baking times - The main secret however is to never over bake them. If you do this they will be all tough and inedible. The secret is to take them out when they are slightly under done. What happens then is that they will carry on cooking when they are out of the oven and they will harden up just enough so that you have that firm texture on top and a soft chewy center.

As you can see, when it comes to cooking the best snickerdoodles attention to timing is everything. As a rule of thumb, 7-8 minutes in a medium heat oven (around 400 degrees F) will give you the perfect cookie. So in order to recreate the best snickerdoodle recipes in your kitchen, follow this guideline and you won't go far wrong.

I don't think Snickers is racist, but oh my word, it could be so very easily. Packaging 8/10 This actually one of the most distinctive packages I have yet to lay my eyes on. Unlike most American candy bars, it doesn't have the giant green stamp on the back, side, inside, on the candy bar itself, anywhere on it! That's a huge point for me, that green stamp annoys me to no end! I mean, why choose green for the color? Why not choose something that actually MATCHES the rest of the packaging? Did the marketing guys think to themselves, "Hmm, bright neon green and orange go perfectly together! Let's make it happen Johnson!" Now, the name Snickers, as confusing as it is, is actually more clever then you might first assume. Sure, the KKK could be walking into convenience stores by the dozens and purposely mispronouncing it just for laughs. But it's not that easy to mispronounce in that way. The K and the G sound are WORLDS apart from each other. A good decision on Snicker's part, although I still cannot understand why they would choose this name for a bar consisting of peanuts, chocolate. and I think nougat (which is the original). I thought Watchamacallit was a random name, but Snickers literally makes no sense. You know what happens when you laugh or even chuckle while eating a candy bar? YOU CHOKE TO DEATH! It seems like a pretty shoddy business plan to kill off your customers after their first taste. It would make a good catch phrase though, "Snickers, the best and last taste ...

Tossed his head down once after a jump BAD PONY! the slow mo clip toward the end is of him tripping. Yea my pony is MEGA graceful! The other paint Mary is riding is not her horse she rides Arion and that is Cookies she is training him to do western productions. At the end we brought cookies to Snickers pasture and obviously my boy is in charge there. Oh he is incapable of eating out of my hand well atleast small things. The last clip is our one mini pony mare and the stallion we rented I guess you would say to breed her too! So next spring hopefully we get a mini pony baby! The paint is the mare and the smaller chesnutish colored pony os the stallion.

Stress eating is almost as predictable as drinking a glass of water when your thirsty. The boss calls you into his office and reprimands you for failing to complete a project. First thing you do when you leave his office is head to the break room so you can empty all of your spare change into the vending machine and soothe your bruised ego with a Snicker's Bar hummm. But how long does that soothing feeling last?

You get home and you and your spouse have a disagreement about money. You can't sleep so now it's 2 o'clock in the morning, you find yourself in a dark kitchen stuffing your mouth with the leftover pie by the light of the refrigerator hummm. But how long does that soothing feeling last?

In both of these scenarios that soothing feeling probably doesn't last more then 15 minutes after the last delicious bite. If one of these situation sounds like something you do when stress takes its toll, then it's likely you're a stress eater. Stress eaters like comfort food - pastas, chocolate, and potato chips (all the stuff that's unhealthy, but temporarily relieves your brain from the situation at hand).

You're not alone so, stop feeling guilty about your stress reflex eating. It's normal for us to engage in the habit of soothing ourselves with food. We associate food with good times - family dinners, holiday gatherings - it's no wonder when we need to feel better, we eat!

But you don't want your stress to get the best of your waistline, either. The added weight will add more stress to your life. The best thing to do is begin focusing on how and when you eat so that you can alter your bad habits and find suitable, smarter replacements.

You might recognize that you're a mindless eater. Many people come home from a hard day at work, plop down on the couch with the TV remote in hand, and mindlessly polish off an entire gallon of ice cream or a whole box of cookies before they realize what they've done and then, regret it.

If you're a stress eater, try to make better choices and be mindful of how much you consume. Instead of a loaf of white bread, try a couple of slices of whole grain bread. Eat it slowly and your brain will deliver the benefits of serotonin longer, keeping stress a bay while you recover from the day's events. Here are a few more healthy choices you can make beginning today.

- Eat your vegetables

- Have a piece of fruit

- Low fat yogurt

- Spinach salad

- A handful of nuts

- Avoid refined sugars.

Use this information and you won't need to call stress eaters anonymous anymore

And I'd like you to invite you to use this information beginning today to make healthy choices to manage your stress eating.

Math was never an easy subject for me in school. It didn't seem to matter how much I tried I never seemed to understand what the teacher wanted and I dreaded when we worked out problems on the board, I always made a mistake and the other children always snickered or had hurtful comments to make. The teachers always seemed at a lost of what to do to help me or any other student who could not keep up with the schedule they had written down at the beginning of the school year. I didn't want my own children to experience the dread of learning math; determining that things would be different for them I came up with some tips and now I hope that these suggestions might offer help and guidance if you know a child who struggles with their math skills.

Obsessed with looking young? Well, you do not really have to scour the globe like Juan Ponce de Leon to find your own ‘Fountain of Youth'. Just gobbling down greens, dried nuts, fresh fruits and veggies everyday would ensure that you give those runway glam dolls a run for their money. All you have to do is drop the jellybeans, snicker bars, wafers, cookies and beer cans from your grocery list and chock up your cart with carrots, melons, beans, berries and greens instead to enjoy some healthy noshing. Apart from whetting up your bon appetite, these fruits and veggies would stall ageing, prevent cancer and cardiac diseases and lengthen your life span by years. Sounds too good to be true, right? Take it or leave it, but it's true. All the bright colored fruits and vegetables like spinach, melons, tomatoes, red bell peppers, mangoes and more, that you see on the supermarket shelves are loaded with antioxidants, a compound that helps to fight the free radicals in the body and minimize the influence of ‘oxidative stress'. If you want to dig deep on the health perks of antioxidants, read on. Antioxidants Benefits
